The stupidity continues…

Apparently limping around for a few days after the Forni di Sopra Sky Race didn’t teach me enough of a lesson. The middle of the week before last I decided to run the Ecomaratona dei Cimbri. I had wanted to do it for the last few years, but stuff kept coming up. Anyway, I decided it was now or never, so I took the plunge.

It was a great run, and I felt wonderful the whole race. I had convinced a new guy at work to run with me. Unfortunately he was quite a bit slower and cost me a lot of time the second half (and a little before that), but he also kept me from running too hard and bonking. I finished with a time of 6:11, although on my own I’m sure I would have been about an hour faster, and maybe even under 5. He had to walk most of the decents, including the final 7 kms, and I have no problem running them.
This run really reminded me how much I enjoy trail racing.

Here we are about 2 or 3 miles into the race:
Then again at village "Le Rotte", 30.5 kms:

Clint, I feel your pain. I've been to the Doc's and the PT with foot pain...but it hasn't stopped me yet.

I tried poking around the site for a profile of the course...Do you have one?

That looks like an awesome race. Way to go.
Never wait for the slow guy though! Ha!
I bet your legs are sore after that one.
They spelled your name with a K. I'm going to call you Klint from now on.

Hey Klint! Way to go. So, who was that new slacker you ran with?
